An Undeniable Secret (Amish Secrets--Book 4) Page 16

Pastor Rob agreed. “God sometimes allows us to go through trials so that we learn to trust in Him. If we learn our lesson, our faith will come out stronger, and we’ll be able to face the next trial with greater confidence.”

  Epilogue

  Six months later…

Saloma gazed at her handsome husband and smiled.

“Are you ready?” Will reached over the seat and grasped her hand.

Sally looked out the tiny window next to her seat. “Are you sure and certain this airplane will stay in the air?”

Will chuckled. “Yes. Unless God calls us home.”

“I wonder what Hawaii will be like.” She’d seen the pictures in the brochures, but everything always seemed better in person.

“I’m sure it will be beautiful. Just like my gorgeous wife.” He leaned over and kissed her on the lips, not caring who was watching. “We’ll have the best honeymoon ever. You can count on that.”

“Your uncle was kind to give us this gift.”

“Oh, yeah! He said he had something else for us too.” Will stood up and took one of their carry-on bags out of the upper luggage compartment. He pulled out an envelope and handed it to Sally. “Here. He said for us to open this on our honeymoon. I think now qualifies.”

Saloma opened the envelope, much like the one Will’s uncle had given them at Christmas, only this one was white. She pulled out a card and read the words, “Dear William and Saloma, I hope you two are having the time of your lives. By the time you read this, my beautiful Ms. Magdalena Johnson and I will be married as well. I know this may be a shock, but this is the way we wanted it to be. I have another surprise. I have purchased a second home in North Carolina where Magdalena and I will reside, but, rest assured, we will visit often. I’ve deeded the home in Pennsylvania to you, William. I was going to put it into my will, but I figured I might as well give it to you now. Please come visit us this summer at our oceanfront cottage. We look forward to seeing you. Have a wonderful honeymoon; I know we will! Love, Uncle George and Aunt Magdalena Anderson.”

William sat open-mouthed. “Wow! I can’t believe that. Who knew?”

Sally’s eyes widened. “We have a house?”

“Yes, Sally. Our very own house.”

Her face brightened. “With plenty of room for lots of bopplin!”

Will’s lips met Sally’s. “Yes, my beautiful wife. We’ll be getting started on those real soon.”

Saloma sighed contently and held tight to Will’s hand as the airplane began traveling at a faster pace. They’d already been instructed to fasten their seatbelts. She watched out the window as the plane lifted into the air and eventually soared in the sky, the objects on the ground becoming smaller and smaller until she could see only clouds beneath them.

She briefly bowed her head and again gave thanks to the Father above for His wonderful provision. Indeed, God was good. Even when everything in life seemed impossible, God was good.
